Make sure the seal is applied around the edge of the access panel (9) on the upper hinge for installation.
(c)
Remove the elbow pins (45) from the upper and lower couplings.
(d)
Disconnect the control rod from the crank (49).
(e)
Remove the bolt (23) that attaches the upper shaft (50) to the upper hinge arm (13) and move the upper shaft clear of the hinge arm.
(f)
Remove the bolts (17) that attaches the lower bearing plate (20) to the upper hinge housing (16) and remove the bearing plate.
(g)
Remove the upper hinge arm (13) from the upper hinge housing (16).

Remove the Lower Hinge Arm

Open the main entry door.
S 494-009
(2)
Attach the sling and apply sufficient tension to release the hinges of the door weight.
S 024-010
(3)
Remove the lower hinge arm.
(a)
Remove the access panels (3 and 6) on the lower hinge, the torque tube (if installed) and the hinge cover (29, Detail A).
(b)
Make sure the seal applies around the edge of the access panel (3) on the lower hinge for installation.
(c)
Remove the elbow pins (45) from the upper and lower couplings.
(d)
Remove the bolts (43, 24) that attach the upper and lower ends of the lower shaft (25) to the lower coupling and the lower hinge arm (33).
(e)
Remove the bolts that attach the upper bearing plate (53) to the lower hinge housing (36).
(f)
Move the lower shaft (25) clear of the lower hinge arm (33).
(g)
Remove the upper bearing plate (53) and the hinge arm from the hinge housing (36).
