 2.  Nose Cargo Door (Fig. 1)_______________
 A.  The nose cargo door is suspended by two hinges beneath the corners of the windshields and open upward approximately 73 degrees. The door provides a clear opening of 98 by 104 inches to load/unload cargo pallets or containers.
 B.  The door operating system consists of a push-pull cam and actuator, latch system, lift system, pressure and aerodynamic seals and an adjustable skin fairing at the aft edge of the door.
 (1)  
The lift system has a drive unit, two flexible drive shafts and two exchangeable linear actuators. The drive unit drives the two linear actuators in synchronization.

 (2)  
The latch system has 21 latches installed around the circumference of the door frame. They are numbered from the bottom, 1 through 10 left and right, and a single latch 11 on center top. Sixteen latches, 1 through 8 left and right, have retractable pins operated by electrical actuators. Latches 9, 10 and 11 have fixed pins.

 C.  
The latch annunciation panel is installed below the nose door and light control panel. This panel shows the latched/not latched conditions of each of the 16 latches.
