 (4)  S 014-011Remove the maintenance access panel on the forward outer side of the door.
 (5)  S 014-046Remove the hinge flaps forward of the hinge links (Ref 52-11-14/401).
 (6)  S 034-012Disconnect the guide arm (12) from the door hinge housing. (a) Remove two bolts (8) with washers (7) (View B) which attach the guide arm fitting to the door hinge housing.
 CAUTION:_______ BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU OPEN THE DOOR. THE DOOR CAN MOVE EASILY WITH THE GUIDE ARM DISCONNECTED. THE DOOR HINGES ARE AT AN ANGLE THAT LETS THE DOOR OPEN EASILY.
 (b)  Open the door to remove the guide arm (12), with the fitting attached, from the door hinge housing.
 (7)  S 494-013Attach the sling to the door (Fig. 403) (a) Open the door to the fully open position. (b) Put the latch fitting block of the sling on the latch roller fitting. (c) Attach the latch fitting block to the latch roller fitting. 1) Use a 5/8-inch bolt and the large washer in the thread hole in the latch roller fitting. 2) Tighten the bolt 20-30 pound-inches. (d) Apply sufficient tension to the sling cable to get the counterbalance weight of the door.

 (8)  
Remove the door.

 (a)  
Remove the bolt (22), washers (20, 21), and nut (19) that attach the lower hinge arm (18) to the hinge link.

 (b)  
Remove the bolt (17), washers (14, 15), and nut (16) that attach the upper hinge arm (13) to the bellcrank link.

 (c)  
Lift the door clear from the airplane.

 (d)  
Put the door on an applicable stand (Fig. 403).

 3.  Entry Door 5 Installation (Fig. 402)_________________________
 A. General
 (1)  
You can do the door installation adjustments with the airplane on its gear and total fuel load of not more than 60,000 pounds. The different between the fuel load on each side of the fuselage must not be more than 5,000 pounds.

 (2)  
You can do the adjustments with one of these configurations of the airplane lifted on jacks:

 (a)  
The inboard wing jacks IV and V installed with the load on each jack not more than 30,000 pounds.

 (b)  
The inboard wing jacks IV, V, and the tail jack III installed with the load on each jack not more than 30,000 pounds.

 (c)  
The tail jack III installed with the load on the jack not more than 4,000 pounds.
