The door is closed from inside the airplane by releasing hold-open latch securing the door in the stowed position and manually sliding the door forward along the carriage tracks until it contacts the forward door snubbers which releases the carriage latch. The door handle is then pulled out and rotated counterclockwise one-half turn. Initial rotation of the handle causes the control cam to operate the upper and lower hinge fitting linkages which moves the door outboard to the door closed position. The door is guided into the opening by the station programming cam and follower located at the lower forward portion of the door. Final rotation of the handle operates the door latching mechanism and returns the door handles to the flush position.
B.
Control
(1)
Open door from inside or outside of airplane as follows:
(a)
Pull interior handle inboard and rotate clockwise one-half turn or pull exterior handles from recess and rotate counterclockwise one-half turn.
(b)
Stow interior handle by pushing handle outboard or exterior handle by placing handles in door recess after door is positioned on carriage.
CAUTION: CHECK THAT EXTERIOR HANDLE IS STOWED BEFORE SLIDING DOOR
_______ AFT TO PREVENT POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO HANDLE.
(c)
Slide door aft to stowed and latched position.
(2)
Close door from inside or outside of airplane as follows:
(a)
Unlatch door by moving latch handle at aft end of upper rail forward and slide door forward against snubbers to release door carriage hook.
(b)
Pull interior handle inboard and rotate counterclockwise or pull exterior handles from recess and rotate clockwise to move door into doorway and latch closed.
