Operate the hatch from inside the airplane and make sure the operation is smooth:
(a)
Close the hatch and turn the interior handle counterclockwise 180 degrees to the latched position.
(b)
Open and move the hatch down and outboard.
(c)
Close and latch the hatch.

Operate the hatch from outside the airplane and make sure the operation is smooth:
(a)
Push the release trigger and extend the handle.
(b)
Turn the handle clockwise 180 degrees.
(c)
Open and move the hatch down and outboard.
(d)
Close and latch the hatch.
(5)
Install the acoustic pad on the hatch with velcro tape.
(6)
Close and latch the hatch.

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains these tasks:
(1)
The removal of the crew compartment overhead hatch.
(2)
The installation of the crew compartment overhead hatch.
B.
The crew compartment overhead hatch will be called a hatch in these tasks.

S 014-003
(1)
Remove the acoustic pad attached to the hatch internal panel.
S 864-016
(2)
Make sure the hatch is closed and latched.
S 034-004
(3)
Remove the bolt, washers, nut, and bushing from the two hinge brackets (View B). Put tags on the washers for the subsequent installation.
S 024-005
WARNING:_______MAKE SURE YOU HOLD THE HATCH. THE HATCH CAN FALL FROM THE OPENING WHEN IT IS UNLATCHED. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(4) Operate the inner handle to unlatch the hatch. Slowly move the hatch from the opening.
