GALLEY CHILLER UNIT - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

A. This procedure contains these tasks:
(1)
The removal of the galley chiller.
(2)
The installation of the galley chiller.

B. Procedure

(1) Open this circuit breaker and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag:
(a) P180 Power Distribution Panel
1) 180D08 CHILLER CONT

Make sure the galley power light on the galley electrical control panel is off.

To remove the chiller unit, do the steps that follow:
(a)
Disconnect the electrical power connector.
(b)
Disconnect the ducts from the chiller unit.
(c)
Remove the bolts and washers.
(d)
Remove the chiller unit.

(1) To install the chiller unit, do the steps that follow:
(a)
Put the chiller unit into its position.
(b)
Attach the bolts and washers.
(c)
Connect the ducts to the chiller unit.
(d)
Connect the electrical power connector.

UPPER DECK GALLEYS - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

1. General (Fig. 1)_______
A. The upper deck galley is situated at the forward end of the upper deck passenger compartment. The galley provides facilities for storing and preparing food and beverages, and for retaining waste materials. The airplane systems provide power, plumbing, ventilation, communication and lighting sevices to the galley complex.
B. An electrical power feeder provides 3-phase, 400-Hz, 115/200-volt ac power and the the P180 dc power distribution panel provides 28-volt dc power to the galley complex. Two power isolation switchs, UTILITY L & R, are located on the pilots' overhead panel (P5). For further information on power distribution refer to AMM 24-51-00/001, 115-volt AC Power Distribution system.
C. The galley complex receives pressurized potable water through a quick-disconnect fitting. Waste water is drained into the airplane waste water system. Refer to AMM 38-31-00/001, Waste Disposal and AMM 38-11-00/001, Storage and Distribution for additional information.
D. Ventilation ducting disposes of galley odors and vapors collected from the galley units in the galley complex. Refer to AMM 21-26-00/001, Lavatory and Galley Ventilation for additional information.
E. A communication speaker in the airplane ceiling panel above the galley complex provide passenger address and entertainment communication for galley personnel. Refer to AMM 23-31-00/001, Passenger Address and Entertainment for additional information.
