 CAUTION:_______ DO NOT INSTALL THE MATERIAL AND INSULATION ON THE INSULATION
 STUD WITHOUT PUNCHING HOLES IN IT.  YOU MAY BREAK OFF THE BREAK
 OFF THE INSULATION STUDS.

 (11) Cut the fire blocking material 15 inches wide and 36 inches long and install it behind the insulation bat.
 NOTE: The material should extend at least two inches past the
____ the insulation stud then wrap around the insulation.

 Cut holes in the fire blocking material to match the existing holes in the insulation then put the material on the insulation stud. The material sections must overlap at least 2 inches with the upper section outboard of the lower section.

 Install the retainer caps.

 Wrap the fire blocking material around the dripshield so that it extends at least 1 inch past the fasteners. Trim excess material.

 Apply BMS5-63 sealant to bond the material to the dripshield (SOPM 20-50-19).


 NOTE: Sealing tape, BMS 5-146, may be used to hold the fire
____ blocking material in place while the sealant cures. It may be left in place permanently. It cannot be used instead of the sealant.

 Apply a 0.25 inch bead of sealant between the fasteners to bond the material to the dripshield if there is more than 5 inches between fasteners.

 Install the fasteners on the aft edge of the dripshield.

 F. Install Hatch Sensor Access fire blocking

 (1)
Remove the sensor access cover and fasteners from the dripshield.

Clean the access cover and flanges.

Spiral wrap BMS5-146 tape around the sensor wiring from the connector to 1 inch past where the wiring passes through the dripshield.

Cut the fire blocking material so that it covers the opening between the inctercostal flanges. The material should overlap the flanges by at least 1 inch.

Apply BMS5-63 sealant to bond the material to the dripshield (SOPM 20-50-19).
