C. Procedure

(1)
Do these steps to retract the ladder:
(a)
Move the ladder up into the access hatch opening.
(b)
Pull the rope to release the upper safety pins from the pin hole brackets.
(c)
Move the lower ladder assembly up until the lower safety pins are near the pin hole brackets.
(d)
Pull on the rope between the lower safety pins the release it to put the pins into the pin hole brackets.
(e)
Push up on the upper and lower ladder assembly and move it forward into the stowed position.
(2)
Close the electronic compartment access hatch, 117AL.

MAIN EQUIPMENT CENTER PARTITION - INSPECTION/CHECK

1. General_______
A. There is one task in this procedure. The task is a visual inspection/check of the partition installed aft of the main equipment center.
B. The partition divides the main equipment center from the forward cargo compartment. The partition has two doors to permit access to the main equipment center from the forward cargo compartment.

Make sure there is no damage to the partition and the doors.
(2)
Make sure the doors can move freely.

Make sure the partition and the doors are installed correctly with all the fasteners tightened.

CONTAINERIZED CARGO COMPARTMENTS - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

1. General (Fig. 1)

A. The forward and aft lower lobe cargo compartments each can accomodate containerized baggage/cargo. Each compartment is equipped with an electrical cargo handling system and restraining system to accommodate containerized cargo. Each compartment can also accommodate palletized cargo when equipped with appropriate pallet retention hardware. The forward and aft compartment electrically operated outward opening doors permit the handling of cargo up to 66-inches high and 104-inches wide.
B. Baggage/cargo containers, cargo pallets, compartment insulation, ceiling and sidewall linings and compartment divider partitions are covered in this section. The cargo handling system is covered in 25-53-00/001, Containerized Cargo Handling System, and the cargo restraining system covered in 25-54-00/001, Containerized Cargo Restraining System.
C. Inspection and maintenance of the non-skid finish on the lower lobe cargo compartment walkways is covered in 51-24-09/701, Nonskid Surface Paint.
2. Baggage/Cargo Containers (Fig. 2)

A. Two types of baggage/cargo containers can be accommodated in the lower lobe cargo compartments; full-size and half-size containers. Grooves along the base of each container mate with cargo restraints in the compartment floor for container movement control and for vertical and lateral restraint.
