USE COTTON THREAD WITH FOUR CORDS TO MAKE 5|1 STITCHES FOR EACH INCH (FEDERAL SPECIFICATION V-T-276, TYPE 1B3 OR TYPE 1B1, TICKET NO. 16).
YOU CAN USE STAPLES TO MAKE IT EASIER WHEN YOU MAKE THE STITCHES. THE STAPLES MUST NOT BE INSTALLED THROUGH THE EDGE TRIM.
IF NECESSARY, USE ONE MORE LOCATION TO MAKE THE STITCHES.
USE AN ADHESIVE DOUBLER IF IT IS NECESSARY TO GO THROUGH THE INSULATION 0.50 INCHES OR LESS.

A. General
(1) The procedures that follow give instructions to repair insulation blankets that have tears or holes. If a blanket has too much damage, you must replace it with a new one. You can use the damaged blanket as a template to make a new one.

Clean the damaged area with cheescloth soaked with MEK or Acetone.

Cut a piece of fabric that is the same as the damaged blanket or cover.
NOTE: The fabric must be one inch larger in all directions than
____ the damaged area. Make the corners of the patch round.
If the damage is more than 25 percent of the blanket or cover size, do the procedure given to replace a blanket with too much damage.
