 GALLEY WASTE ENCLOSURE - INSPECTION/CHECK

 1.  General_______
 A.  This is a procedure to examine the galley waste enclosures on the airplane to make sure that each galley waste enclosure can contain a fire.
 B.  The galley waste enclosure is referred to as the enclosure in this procedure.
 TASK 25-31-01-206-013
 2.  Examine the Galley Waste Enclosure__________________________________
 A.  Access
 (1)  Location Zone
 200 Upper Half of Fuselage

 B.  Procedure
 S 206-007
 (1)  To do a check on the waste compartment and door, do the steps that follow:
 (a)  
Make sure the door hinge is not loose or worn too much.

 (b)  
Make sure the door edges do not have damage.

 (c)  
Make sure the door latch operates smoothly.

 (d)  
Make sure the door is tight when the door is closed and latched.

 (e)  
Make sure the door operates smoothly and closes correctly on the opening.

 (f)  
Make sure the floor fittings have seals. Also, make sure there are no damaged seals.

 (g)  
Make sure the WASTE CONTAINER MUST BE INSTALLED placard is installed.

 (h)  
Make sure the clearance between the closed and latched door and the enclosure is not more than the maximum tolerance specified in the galley Component Maintenance Manual.

 (i)  
Make sure the clearance is not more than 0.03 inch between the closed and latched door and the enclosure.

 (j)  
Make sure the door latch bolt engages into the enclosure the distance specified on the galley Component Maintenance Manual.

 (k)  
Make sure the door latch bolt engages at least 0.14 inch into the enclosure.

 (l)  
Make sure the waste container is in good structural condition.

 (m)  
For the installed galley and galley waste carts, make sure the interface boot is sealed fully against the galley enclosure.

 (2)  To do a check on the waste container, do the steps that follow:
 (a)  
Make sure the door hinge is tight.

 (b)  
Make sure the door and enclosure edges do not have damage.

 (c)  
Make sure the door operates smoothly and closes correctly on the opening.

 (d)  
Make sure the door latch operates smoothly.

 (e)  
Make sure the door is tight when it is closed and latched.

 (f)  
Make sure the latch bolt engages into the enclosure a minimum of 0.50 inch.

 (g)  
Make sure the thickness of the seal is not decreased more than

 0.06 inch when the door is closed and latched.

 (h)  
Make sure there is no clearance between the seal and the enclosure.

 (i)  
Make sure the ENGAGE LATCHES BEFORE DISPATCH placard is installed on the hatch.

 GALLEY POWER ELECTRICAL LOAD CONTROL UNIT - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure has two tasks. One task is the removal of the electrical-load control units (ELCU) (M481, M482, M485, and M486) for the galley power. The other task is the installation of the ELCU.
