C. Install the Galley Power Electrical Load Control Unit
S 424-008
(1) Install the ELCU:
(a)
Put the ELCU in its position in the applicable panel.
(b)
Install the four screws that attach the ELCU to the panel.
(c)
Tighten the screws.

(2) Connect the electrical leads to the ELCU:
(a)
Remove the screws that attach the terminal covers to the ELCU.
(b)
Remove the terminal covers.
(c)
Remove the nuts and the washers from the terminal studs on the ELCU.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE YOU CONNECT THE CORRECT ELECTRICAL LEAD TO EACH
_______ STUD ON THE ELCU. AN INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE A MALFUNCTION OF THE CIRCUIT AND DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
(d) Connect the electrical leads to the terminal studs on the ELCU.
CAUTION: DO NOT INSTALL THE WASHERS BELOW THE ELECTRICAL LEADS.
_______ THIS WILL CAUSE HEAT THAT CAN BURN THE STUDS ON THE ELCU.
(e)
Install the washers and the nuts on the terminal studs.
(f)
Tighten the terminal nuts to a torque of 120 +/- 5 pound-inches
(13.6 +/- 0.5 N.m).
(g)
Remove the identification tags from the electrical leads.
(h)
Put the terminal covers in their positions on the ELCU.
(i)
Install the screws that attach the terminal cover to the ELCU.
(j)
Tighten the screws.

(4) Close the access door for the panel.
D. Do a Test of the Galley Power Electrical Load Control Unit

Supply electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).

Do a test of the ELCU:
(a)
Get access to the EXISTING FAULTS page for Chapter 24 (if any) on the CMCS (AMM 45-10-00/201).
(b)
Make sure the CMCS messages for the galley power ELCUs do not show.
(c)
Push the L and R UTILITY switches on the P5 panel.
(d)
Make sure the OFF lights on the switches come on.
(e)
Make sure the CMCS messages for the galley power ELCUs do not show.
(f)
Push the L and R UTILITY switches.
(g)
Make sure the ON lights on the switches come on.
(3)
Remove electrical power, if it is not necessary (Ref 24-22-00/201).
