PASSENGER COMPARTMENTS - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

1. General (Fig. 1)

A. The passenger compartment is the area on the upper deck between the flight deck and the crew rest.
B. The galley, lavatory, and coat closet modules, the major items of equipment and furnishings installed in the upper deck compartment, are used for reference location of items such as partitions, stowage boxes, curtains, and loose emergency equipment.
C. Equipment/furnishings as installed within the upper deck compartment in the delivery configuration, and as supplied as flyaway equipment on follow-on delivery kits, are covered in subsections under this number block as follows:
(1)
Sidewall and ceiling lining and insulation (AMM 25-21-00/001).
(2)
Closets and partitions (AMM 25-24-00/001).
(3)
Seats (AMM 25-25-00/001) in the upper deck provided for ride-along passengers.
(4)
The stowable ladder provides the means of access between the main deck cargo compartment and the upper deck compartment and flight compartment.
(5)
Floor coverings (AMM 25-27-00/001) including carpets, pads and mats used in the upper deck passenger compartment. Refer to 25-27-00/001 for floor covering inside the lavatory modules.
D. Other items of equipment/furnishings installed within passenger compartments, not covered in subsections under this section number block, are covered by unit or equipment titled in section blocks as follows:
