UPPER DECK CEILING PANELS - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure has these tasks:
(1)
Remove upper deck ceiling panels
(2)
Install upper deck ceiling panels.
B. Do this procedure if it is necessary to repair the panels or get access to the structure behind the panels.

D. Procedure

(1) Remove the electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

WARNING:_______REMOVE THE ELECTRICAL POWER BEFORE YOU DO MAINTENANCE. IF YOU DO NOT REMOVE THE ELECTRICAL POWER, INJURY TO PERSONS CAN OCCUR.
(2) Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a) P414 Power Distribution Center - Left Panel: 1) 414L18 UPR DK DIR CLG LIGHT 2) 414L19 UPR DK WINDW REVEAL

(3) Remove the spline gap cover to get access to the panel edge fasteners.

(4) Remove the center lighted reveal panel (Fig. 402):
(a) Hold the lighted reveal panel while you remove the captive screws.
CAUTION: DO NOT PULL THE WIRES WHEN YOU DISCONNECT THEM FROM THE
_______ PANEL YOU REMOVE. IF YOU PULL THE WIRES, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THEM.
(b)
Hold the panel while you disconnect the hoses for air conditioning, and the electrical connections.
(c)
Remove the panel.

Remove the support bracket fasteners.

Remove the upper closure panel (Fig. 403):
(a)
Remove the support brackets from the panel brackets.
(b)
Remove one captive screw at the forward side of the upper closure panel and one at the aft side.
(c)
Lower the outboard side of the upper closure panel.
(d)
Remove the clip on the inboard side of the upper closure panel to disengage the panel from the structure.
(e)
Remove the upper closure panel.

(7) Remove the overstair panel (Fig. 404):
(a)
Remove the captive screws from the lighted reveal panels that are adjacent to the overstair panel.
(b)
Hold the panel while you remove the captive screws from the overhead supports.
(c)
Disengage the clip at the aft left corner of the overstair panel from the support angle.

(d) Remove the overstair panel.

(8) Remove the hinged panel (Fig. 405):
(a)
Remove the captive screws.
(b)
Disconnect the hinges.
