 SEATS - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

 1.  General (Fig. 1)_______
 A.  Passenger seating in the upper deck compartment consists of one row of double seats on the left side of the compartment and one row of double seats on the right side of the compartment.
 B.  All seats are secured by attachment to the seat tracks in the floor. The tracks are continuous extrusions with circular cutouts which receive the seat attachment fittings and allow the seats to be positioned in various seat spacing arrangements in 1-inch increments. The seat is securely locked to the floor tracks by a lever-operated plunger handle. This handle, when set into the matching cutouts on the floor tracks, properly aligns the fittings to provide positive indexing to the lips of the floor track and assures restraint of the seat.
 C.  The various passenger seats consist of an aluminum riveted and welded frame with supporting legs and braces, individual movable seatbacks and bottoms each with a recline control mechanism, underseat baggage retainers and, adjustable headrests. Passenger seats utilize movable folding armrests to separate individual seating.
 D.  Seatbacks are individually adjustable from the fully upright to fully recline position or any intermediate position. Movement of the seatback is controlled by a mechanical lock which is actuated by a control located at the front inside of the right-hand and left-hand armrest.
 2.  Operation_________
 A.  Passenger Seats
 (1)  
To move the seatback from upright to any intermediate or fully reclined position, press the recline control and apply pressure against the seatback. Release pressure on the recline control to stop seatback movement at any desired position.

 (2)  
To return a reclined seatback to the full upright position, press the recline control and remove pressure from the seatback; the seatback automatically returns to the normal upright position.

 PASSENGER SEAT - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure contains these tasks:
 (1)  
The removal of the passenger seats.

 (2)  
The installation of the passenger seats.

 B.  Use this procedure if it is necessary to remove, repair, or replace the seats or get access to the adjacent equipment.
 C.  Passenger seating in the upper deck compartment consists of one row of double seats on the left side of the compartment and one row of double seats on the right side of the compartment.

Remove the cover from the front seat track.

Remove the cover from the rear seat track.

 (3)  
Loosen the anti-rattle device behind the seat track.

 NOTE: Use a spanner type wrench to loosen the anti rattle device.

Loosen the screw on the seat track fittings.

Move the seat in the forward or aft direction approximately 1/2 inch to align the studs with the holes in the seat tracks.
