D. In the aft compartment, lining panels and support structure are installed on the forward bulkhead in the aft cargo compartment. The lining panels are installed similar to those panels installed along the sidewalls.
6. AIRPLANES WITH DECOMPRESSION VENTS; Decompression Vents

A. In the lower lobe compartments, there are three decompression vents for the each compartment. The decompression vents permit air to go from the lower lobe compartments to the main deck. The installation for the decompression vents is almost the same as the installation for the sidewall lining.
7. Forward Compartment Divider Partitions

A. A divider partition is installed at the forward end of the forward cargo compartment and separates the compartment from the main electrical/electronic equipment center. The partition consists of flexible panels in the center and rigid panels with hinged access doors along the outboard side to provide access to main electrical/electronic equipment center.
B. A divider lining panel is installed at the aft end of the forward cargo compartment just forward of the aft bulkhead. The divider is attached to support structure by snap-type fasteners along the edges of the lining panel. Removal of the divider provides access to the potable water tanks installed just forward of the aft bulkhead.

CONTAINERIZED CARGO COMPARTMENT CEILING
_______________________________________ AND SIDEWALL LININGS - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure has these tasks:
(1)
The removal of the sidewall linings.
(2)
The removal of the ceiling linings.
(3)
The installation of the sidewall linings.
(4)
The installation of the ceiling linings.
B. The sidewall linings attach to the vertical and lower (sloping) structure on the outboard sides of each compartment. Other sidewall linings attach to the forward bulkhead structure in the aft compartment. The vertical sidewall linings and the ceiling linings are rigid linings which attach to the structure with screws. Some of the vertical sidewall linings are flexible linings which attach to the structure with quick-release button fasteners and velcro tape. The lower (sloping) sidewall linings and the forward bulkhead linings are rigid linings which attach to the structure with scrivet fasteners.
C. The rigid sidewall linings on the vertical structure must have one of these material specifications: BMS 8-2, Class 1, Grade 1, Type 13 or BMS 8-223, Grade B. You must not use a rigid vertical sidewall liner with a different material specification. The thickness of the replacement material must be the same as the original liner. These rigid linings are made to blow away from the vertical structure during a sudden release of pressure in the compartment.
