 (1)  
Install the bolts, washers, bushing, and nuts to install the trunnion to the crew ladder.

 (2)  
Install the bolts, washers, bushings, and nuts to connect the upper hand rails to the lower hand rails.

 WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU RETRACT THE CREW LADDER TO THE CEILING.
_______ THE CREW LADDER IS VERY HEAVY WHEN THE COUNTERBALANCE IS NOT CONNECTED TO THE CREW LADDER. IF YOU ARE NOT CAREFUL THE LADDER CAN FALL AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Use the ladder tool to retract the crew ladder to the ceiling.

Make sure the pins on the sides of the ladder foot engage fully in the slots in the stow brackets.

Connect the bolts, washers, and nuts to install the counterbalance strut to the crew ladder.

 ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT CENTERS - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

 1.  General
_______
 A.  Equipment centers are located throughout the airplane for installation of electrical/electronic units and components. Equipment/furnishings installed in these centers include shields and drains, stanchions, racks and shelves. The following equipment centers are discussed in this section (Fig. 1):
 (1)  
The main electrical/electronic equipment center located immediately forward of the forward containerized cargo compartment.

 (2)  
The forward electrical/electronic equipment center located under the main deck, on each side of the nose gear wheel well, forward of the main electrical/electronic equipment center.

 (3)  
The center fuselage electrical/electronic equipment center located under the aft end of the forward containerized cargo compartment floor.

 (4)  
The aft electrical/electronic equipment center located in the aft end of the main deck compartment.

 (5)  
The satellite communications (SATCOM) electrical/electronic equipment center located forward and above main deck entry door No. 4 left.


 B.  Air circulation cooling is provided within the main electrical/electronic equipment center to dissipate heat. Orifice valves control airflow to the rack-mounted equipment.
 2.  Main Electrical/Electronic Equipment Center

 A.  The main electrical/electronic equipment center provides space for E-1 and E-2 equipment racks, and P-92, P-414, P-415, P-514, P-515, P-614, P-615, P-714 and P-715 main power center panels. The rack designation reads from left to right.
 WARNING: ALL ACCESS PANELS IN THE PARTITION AT THE FORWARD END OF THE CARGO
_______ COMPARTMENT MUST BE FULLY CLOSED FOR PROPER OPERATION OF SMOKE DETECTION AND FIRE EXTINGUISHING SYSTEMS.
 B.  Access to the main equipment center is through the inflight access hatch in the main deck floor by door 1 left, through an external hatch on the underside of the fuselage and through hinged access doors in the partition at the forward end of the forward containerized cargo compartment.
