(1) Hold the lining in its position against the structure.
NOTE: You can use doubleback tape to hold the lining temporarily
____ to the structure. You must remove the doubleback tape when you install the lining permanently to the structure.

Install the screws to attach the lining to the structure.

Do these steps if the lining has rubstrips:
NOTE: The ceiling linings in the area of the cargo compartment door

have rubstrips.
(a)
Hold the rubstrips against the lining.
(b)
Install the screws to attach the rubstrips to the lining.

(4) Make sure the installation of the smoke sampling tubes is correct:
(a)
Make sure there is a rubber silicon tee or tube that comes through the hole in the ceiling liner.
(b)
Make sure the ceiling liners do not hold the tee or tube too tightly.
(c)
Make sure the ceiling liners do not change the shape of the tee or the tube.
(d)
Make sure the smoke sampling hole in each of the ports is easily seen and it is not blocked.

DO NOT BREATHE THE FUMES FROM THE SOLVENTS. USE A PROTECTIVE SPLASH GOGGLE, GLOVES, AND A RESPIRATOR (IN CONFINED AREAS) WHEN YOU USE THE SOLVENTS. KEEP THE SOLVENTS AWAY FROM ALL SOURCES OF IGNITION (HEAT, FLAME, AND SPARKS). THE SOLVENTS YOU USE ARE POISONOUS AND FLAMMABLE. (5) Clean the surface of the linings around the lining fasteners with a cheesecloth that is moist with the solvent.
NOTE: It is necessary to make the surface clean for the tape to

bond correctly to the linings.

Dry the surface of the lining with a clean cheesecloth.

Install the new tape to seal all the fasteners and all the edges of the lining.
NOTE: The centerline of the tape must align with the centerline of
____ the fasteners when you apply the tape. The tape must extend along the edges of the linings to correctly seal the joints.

(8) Make sure the tape bonds fully to the lining.
NOTE:____There must be no air bubbles below the tape. The tape must be flat on the surface of the lining.
F. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

Push the CAUTION switch-light on the cargo control panel until it does not flash.

Remove the safety barrier (3PRE65B00040) from the opening of the cargo compartment door if it is not necessary.

Close the cargo compartment door (AMM 52-34-00/001).
