B. The insulation blankets, in addition to performing their thermal insulating and noise attenuation functions, serve to prevent inner skin condensation from leaking into the compartment, by draining the moisture down into the lower section of the fuselage where airplane drainage is provided. In some areas the blankets also help to prevent a sidewall fire. To perform these functions properly, it is important that all blankets be overlapped and fitted tightly and sealed to form an air-tight seal around any protruding structure.
C. The insulation blankets and cap strips vary in size, depending on their location, and are attached to the airplane structure with plastic fasteners. Numerous combinations of the plastic fasteners are used, with each combination determined by location, shape and size of structure to which the blanket is attached. Each blanket part number is stamped on the inboard surface.

UPPER DECK WINDOW REVEAL AND SHADE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure has these tasks:

Remove the window reveal panel

(2)
Install the window reveal panel.

B. To remove each reveal panel, the ceiling panel above it must be removed. The reveals are installed in the passenger compartment between the ceiling panels and dado panels.

Remove the ceiling panel (AMM 25-22-03/401).

Disconnect the external electrical connector from the light assembly housing on the outboard side of the window reveal panel.
