4. System Test - Cargo Handling System

A. General
(1) This task is a test of the cargo handling system for the forward and the aft cargo compartment. Ignore the steps not applicable to the compartment being tested.

NOTE: Electrical power to the cargo drive system comes through

(3) Install the safety barrier for the cargo door if the door is open.
F. Do a Test of the Lateral Guide Rail Operation

(1) In the forward compartment, do the steps that follow:
(a)
Put the LATERAL GUIDE switch in the RETRACT BOTH position.
(b)
Make sure the forward and aft lateral guide rails retract and stay in that position.

(2) In the aft compartment, do the steps that follow:
(a)
Put the LATERAL GUIDE switch in the RETRACT position.
(b)
Make sure the forward and aft lateral guide rail retract and stay in that position.

On each guide rail make sure Dimension A is 0.80 (|0.06) inch (Fig. 502), or do a check for a go/no-go condition, using a check fixture tool.

Put the LATERAL GUIDE switch in the NORMAL position.

Put the joystick in the FWD or AFT position to extend the guide rails.
(a) Release the joystick to the center position when the lateral guides are fully extended.

On each guide rail make sure Dimension B is 2.67 to 2.88 inches (Fig. 502), or do a check for a go/no-go condition, using a check fixture tool.
