General

A. The cargo and accessory compartments provide areas for cargo and baggage stowage and installation of electrical/electronic equipment centers (Fig. 1).
Lower Lobe Cargo Compartments
_____________________________
A. Three cargo compartments are located in the lower lobe. One compartment is designed for stowing bulk cargo, the other two compartments for handling and stowing containerized and palletized cargo. For further information on the containerized and bulk cargo compartments, refer to AMM 25-52-00/001, AMM 25-53-00/001, AMM 25-54-00/001 and AMM 25-55-00/001.
Accessory Compartments

A. The accessory compartments are those electrical/electronic centers located in the airplane for installation of electronic controls, power sources, relays and similar equipment.
B. Two electrical/electronic (E/E) equipment centers are located at the forward end of the forward lower lobe cargo compartment and a third is located below the forward lower lobe cargo compartment floor near the aft end of the compartment. An additional E/E equipment center is located aft of main entry door No. 5L above the aft left coat closet in the main deck passenger compartment.

A. FREIGHTERS; The main deck cargo compartment is for handling and stowing the containerized cargo.
B. For information on the main deck cargo compartment, refer to
AMM 25-57-00/001, AMM 25-58-00/001, AMM 25-59-00/001.FREIGHTERS; Crew Ladder
___________
A. A crew ladder is to get access between the main and upper decks (Fig. 2).
B. The ladder is retracted to the ceiling during the cargo loading/unloading and extended before and after the loading as necessary and during flight.
C. Use the ladder tool to lift or lower the ladder to and from the retracted position in the ceiling of the main deck.
