GALLEY WATER FILTER - MAINTENANCE PRACTICES

1. General_______
A. This procedure gives the instructions for the replacement of the water filter cartridge.
B. The water filters, with replacement cartridges, are in each of the galley units supplied with potable water. The filters are near each shutoff valve for the galley water. The valves are downstream from the fitting for the airplane/galley water interface.
C. You must close the primary shutoff valve for the galley water and drain the system when you replace the cartridge.

Get access to the filter assembly.

Turn the water shutoff valve to OFF.
(3)
Drain the water from the galley unit.
(4)
Loosen the knurled vent screw on the filter cap.
(5)
Loosen the clamp that holds the filter cap.
(6)
Remove the clamp from the filter housing.

(7) S 032-016Remove the cap from the filter housing.
(8) S 902-007Replace the filter cartridge with a new cartridge.
(9) S 432-008Install the cap on the filter housing.

Attach the cap to the filter housing with the clamp.

Tighten the clamp.

Tighten the knurled vent screw in the highest position.

Turn the water shutoff valve to the OPEN position.

Open a coffeemaker or the boiler faucet until you remove all of the air from the system.

Do a check for leaks around the filter cap.

Close the access to the filter assembly.

GALLEY DRAIN LINE STRAINER - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
_______
A. This procedure contains two tasks.
(1)
The first task is for the removal of the drain line strainer.
(2)
The second task is for the installation of the drain line strainer.
NOTE: Before servicing the drain strainer, you must remove all
____ liquid from the sink and drain as much as possible.

Remove the equipment needed to get access to the area below the galley sink.

Remove the wing bolts and washers from the strainers housing.

Remove the strainer element from the strainer housing.
