Sidewall Linings In the Upper Deck Passenger Cabin (Fig. 1)

 A.  The sidewall linings in the upper deck cabin are installed between the ceiling panels and the dado panels. The window reveal panels, located in some sidewall linings, consist of an inner and outer reveal with a window shade and dust cover between the reveals. Each reveal panel is secured by screws at the top and retained to secondary structure by clips at the bottom and vertical edges.
 NOTE: The blank lining panels which extend from the overhead center
____ ceiling area to the top of the dado panels are considered ceiling panels (not sidewall linings).
Dado Panels (Fig. 1)

 A.  Dado panels are installed below the reveal panels in the upper deck compartment. The top edges of all dado panels are secured to a secondary support structure by spring clips to retain the bottom edge of each upper deck cabin panel by engaging the support structure. Screws attach the bottom edges of the upper deck compartment panels.
 B.  Dado vent box modules are installed at various locations along the passenger area sidewall in place of the dado panels. The vent box module incorporates a dado panel and a louvered air grille as part of a hinged and spring-loaded door. Normal airflow is through the air grille louvers; however, in the event of rapid cabin decompression the hinged door swings back into the sidewall to provide additional venting. The dado vent box modules are secured at the top by simple fasteners to the sidewall support structure and at the bottom by spring clips engaged into the support structure.
Air Grilles (Fig. 1)

 A.  Air grille panels are installed as part of dado panels and vent box dados. Air grilles can be removed by means of a push/push type latch.

 5.  Insulation Blankets
___________________
 A.  Sidewall and ceiling insulation of the upper deck compartment is accomplished by blankets installed between the airplane structural members. The blankets consist of fiberglass batting enclosed in fire-resistant, filament-reinforced plastic sheeting. The blankets are attached to the airplane structure with plastic snap or screw type fasteners, double-back adhesive tape, and/or velcro tape.
