Push the CAUTION switch-light on the cargo control panel until it starts to flash.

Make sure the POWER DRIVE SYSTEM switch on the cargo control panel is in the OFF position.

Open the circuit breaker, and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags, for the applicable PDU.
(a)
For the forward compartment, the circuit breaker is on the P86 Forward Lower Cargo Equipment Panel.
(b)
For the aft compartment, the circuit breaker is on the P59 Aft Lower Cargo Equipment Panel.
B. Install the PDU

(1) Install grounding strap onto grounding stud of ballmat or roller tray, as applicable.

Locate PDU in ballmat pan or roller tray, so that connector end is towards the connector hole in ballmat or roller tray.

Install attach screws and reconnect grounding strap. Ensure that two washers are used for grounding strap connection.

Reconnect electrical connector.
C. Do an operational test of the PDU

(1) Close the circuit breaker, and remove DO-NOT-CLOSE tags, for the applicable PDU.
(a)
For the forward compartment, the circuit breaker is on the P86 Forward Lower Cargo Equipment Panel.
(b)
For the aft compartment, the circuit breaker is on the P59 Aft Lower Cargo Equipment Panel.

Set the POWER DRIVE SYSTEM switch on the cargo control panel to operate the applicable PDU.

Push the CAUTION switch-light on the cargo control panel until it stops flashing.

Put a piece of paper, or equivalent cover, over the sensor of the applicable PDU and move the joystick in the direction required to operate the PDU.
(a) The PDU should raise up and the drive rollers should rotate in the direction that the joystick is moved.

Release the joystick
(a) The PDU drive rollers should stop and the PDU should retract into its normal position.
(6)
Remove the cover from PDU sensor.

D. Put the airplane back to its usual condition
