C. Procedure

(1) Install the rubber O-ring on the strainer housing.
NOTE: Make sure the rubber O-ring and the mating surfaces are
____ clean for satisfactory seal after installation. Replace a damaged or worn O-ring.

Install the strainer element into the strainer housing.

Install the wing bolts and washers.
NOTE: The wing bolts are a different dimension to
____ prevent an incorrect installation of the strainer element.

(4) Remove all liquid from the sink and drain as much as possible. Place all waste material in a plastic bag for disposal.
NOTE: Absorb all liquid with absorbant towels.

Do a check of the sink drain line for leaks.
(a)
Open the cold water faucet above the galley sink.
(b)
Let the water flow through the sink drain line and the strainer assembly.
(c)
Do a check of the strainer assembly for leaks.
(6)
Install the necessary galley equipment.

GALLEY DRAIN LINE STRAINER - CLEANING/PAINTING

1. General_______
A. This task gives the instructions to clean the element in the strainer of the galley drain line.
B. A drain line strainer is installed in the galleys with a sink. The drain line strainer contains an element that you can remove and clean. The strainer housing assembly is installed in the galley drain line between the galley sink and the floor drain fitting.
