GUIDE RAIL EXTENSION/RETRACTION LINKAGE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
______________________________________________________________
1. General_______
A. This procedure contains these tasks:
(1)
The removal of the linkage rod assemblies for the lateral guide rail.
(2)
The installation of the linkage rod assemblies.
B. The guide rail linkage contains many cranks and rod assemblies. They connect a set of six guide rails with a linear actuator. Each rod assembly is adjustable. You can change the length when it is necessary to get the correct retracted position of the guide rails. The removal and the installation procedures are almost the same for all the rod assemblies.
C. The removal and the installation of the remaining linkage components are obvious. The guide rail adjustments that are necessary after replacement of these components are the same as after the replacement of the rod assemblies.
D. You must remove the ball-transfer panels and the structural door assembly with the splitter rail from floor at Sta 664 and 1852 (BL 0.0). This is necessary to get to the rod assembly, to lubricate the rod assembly and the fittings, and to adjust the rod assembly. You must also remove these components to do the operational test of the guide rail.
