 A.  The overhead escape hatch reveal lining is made of fiberglass material coated with decorative paint on the inboard finished surface. The fiberglass material is flexible and easily formed to the required contour or bend. The overhead escape hatch reveal is fastened to support brackets by screws around its edges.
Overhead Escape Hatch Acoustic Pad

 A.  An acoustic pad covers the overhead escape hatch in the flight compartment ceiling to aid in flight deck noise reduction and is attached to the escape hatch with velcro fasteners.
Ceiling Dripshields
___________________
 A.  The dripshields are rigid, formed fiberglass panels with insulation blankets cemented on the outboard side. Dripshields are installed to control condensate flow and insulate the flight compartment. The pilots' overhead dripshield is installed above the overhead instrument panels. The overhead escape hatch dripshield is installed above the lining panel in the area of the overhead escape hatch. The pilots' overhead dripshield routes the condensate forward to a plastic tube which passes over the windshield center post and carries the moisture to the airplane drain system. The overhead escape hatch dripshield directs the condensate flow outboard to the sidewall dripshields and subsequently to the airplane drain system.

 B.  Screws attach the dripshield to ceiling structure. The joints of adjacent dripshields have a 2-inch overlap and are fillet sealed with a synthetic rubber. Mounting brackets are installed at numerous locations at the inboard side of the dripshield to provide attachment for sidewall lining wiring, instrument panels and other miscellaneous equipment.

 FLIGHT COMPARTMENT DRIPSHIELD - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure has these tasks:
 (1)
The removal of the dripshields.

 (2)
The installation of the dripshields.

 (3)
The installation of fire blocking material.

 B.  The dripshields are of different shapes and are installed over the structure in the flight deck. The dripshields help drain condensation, which collects on the structure, away from the occupied area of the flight deck. The dripshields are attached to the structure with screws. It is necessary to remove the ceiling panels, the pilots' overhead electrical panels, and applicable flight deck furnishings in order to remove the dripshields.
 C.  The fire blocking material is installed where the dripshield is exposed to potential ignition sources. The fire block uses fire resistant flexible cargo liner material as a primary barrier. It is held in place by a combination of fasteners, fire resistant sealant, and existing insulation blanket studs. For large gaps between the dripshield and structure, fire resistant foam and glass fabric is used.
