ANTISKID SHUTTLE VALVE ASSEMBLY - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
_______
A. This procedure contains the removal and the installation task for the antiskid shuttle valve module.
B. There are four antiskid shuttle valve modules, one for each main landing gear.
(1)
The antiskid shuttle valve modules for the wing gear are installed on the bottom of the wing trailing edge, above the wing gear trunnion.
(2)
The antiskid shuttle valve modules for the body gear are installed on the aft bulkhead of the body gear wheel well, above the body gear trunnion.
C.
The antiskid shuttle valve modules for the wing gear are similar to those for the body gear, except that the body gear modules have pressure compensated flow regulators on the brake ports. The wing gear modules have unions on the brake ports. The pressure compensated flow regulators for the wing gear are installed on the shock strut above the truck.

WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY DO THE STEPS IN THE TASK BELOW TO INSTALL
_______ THE DOOR LOCKS ON THE LANDING GEAR DOORS. THE DOORS CAN CLOSE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE DOOR LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Make sure the chocks are installed at all the wheels.

Remove the pressure from hydraulic systems No. 1, 2, and 4 and the reservoirs (AMM 29-11-00/201).

Release the parking brake.

Release the hydraulic fluid from the brake accumulator with these steps:
(a)
Operate the brake pedals fully 10 times.
(b)
Look at the HYD BRAKE PRESS gage on the captain's instrument panel, P1, and make sure it does not show a decrease in brake pressure on the last time the brake pedals are operated.

Remove the Antiskid Shuttle Valve Module Assembly (Fig. 401)

CAUTION: BE CAREFUL TO KEEP CONTAMINATON OUT OF THE ANTISKID SHUTTLE
_______ VALVE MODULE. CONTAMINATION CAN CAUSE A MALFUNCTION OF THE ANTISKID SHUTTLE VALVE.
