NOTE: Each brake bleeder assembly has a bleeder valve
____ installed in an adapter. The adapter is installed in the brake unit housing.
CAUTION:_______TIGHTEN THE ADAPTER TO 90-110 POUND-INCHES. IF YOU TIGHTEN THE ADAPTER TO MORE THAN 110 POUND-INCHES, YOU CAN DAMAGE THE ADAPTER OR THE BRAKE UNIT HOUSING.
1) Tighten the adapter to 90-110 pound-inches.
NOTE: The specified torque values are for installation of
____ the adapter on the brake unit housing. The maximum torque value for the bleeder valve, which you do not operate in this procedure, is 45 pound-inches.
2) Lockwire the adapter of the brake bleeder assembly to the brake unit housing.
(f) Connect the hose half of the hydraulic brake disconnect to the brake half.

Do this sequence of steps six times to bleed any small quantities of air from the brakes:
(a)
Slowly push one of the two sets of brake pedals to the limit of travel to fully operate the brakes.
(b)
Hold these brake pedals in this postion momentarily.
(c)
Slowly release the brake pedals. Stop for ten seconds before you operate the brakes again.

Set the parking brake.

Do these steps to do a check of the brake bleeder assemblies installed on each brake unit (16 locations):
(a)
After two minutes with the parking brake set, make sure that there is no leakage at the brake bleeder assembly.
(b)
Make sure that a machine screw is installed in the bleeder valve of the brake bleeder assembly.

Set the GND TESTS switch, on the P461 panel or in the main equipment center, to the NORM position.

BRAKE SYSTEM CONTROL UNIT - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains two tasks, one to remove and one to install the Brake System Control Unit (BSCU). The Central Maintenance Computer will identify when the brake system control unit is defective and needs to be replaced.
B. The removal task includes an optional check for the stored shop faults through the use of the Central Maintenance Computer.
