Do the Torque Sensor Zero Function (Ref Ground Tests - Brake Control System).

Do these steps to do a control circuit test for the brake torque limiting system:

 (a)  
If necessary, do these steps to install a pressure gage at each brake unit of the main landing gear (16 locations): 1) Make sure that the parking brake is released. 2) Make sure that the brakes are not operated manually.


 WARNING: THE BRAKES MUST NOT BE IN OPERATION WHEN YOU CONNECT
_______ OR DISCONNECT THE TWO PARTS OF A HYDRAULIC BRAKE DISCONNECT. IF YOU TRY TO CONNECT OR DISCONNECT A HYDRAULIC BRAKE DISCONNECT WITH THE BRAKE IN OPERATION, HYDRAULIC FLUID UNDER HIGH PRESSURE CAN RELEASE. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 3)  To remove all pressure from the brake unit, disconnect the hose half of the hydraulic brake disconnect from the brake half.
 4)  Remove the brake bleeder assembly from the brake unit housing.
 NOTE: Each brake bleeder assembly has a bleeder valve
____ installed in an adapter. The adapter is installed in the brake unit housing.

2.  ZERO OUT TEST BOX PER CERTIFICATION 
PROCEDURE PRIOR TO CONNECTING TO 
BRAKE TORQUE SENSOR. 
3.  CONNECT THE G32014 TEST EQUIPMENT 
IN PLACE OF THE BRAKE TORQUE SENSOR. 
_____USAGE:  4.  PERFORM TEST PER AMM 32-42-00/501 

TO TEST BRAKE CONTROL UNIT RESPONSE TO VARIATIONS IN TORQUE SENSOR INPUT. SEE USAGE PLACARD FOR USAGE PICTURE.
REFERENCE DRAWINGS:
160U0100 LOAD SENSOR ASSEMBLY-BRAKE ROD, MAIN LANDING GEARS 160U0101 STRAIN GAGE HOUSING ASSEMBLY-BRAKE ROD LOAD SENSOR, WING AND BODY LANDING GEAR 160U0102 STRAIN GAGE HOUSING ASSEMBLY-BRAKE ROD LOAD SENSOR, MAIN LANDING GEAR S283U002 BRAKE SYSTEM CONTROL UNIT
CERTIFICATION PROCEDURE:
CONTINUITY TEST AT TIME OF INITIAL FABRICATION AND REWORK.
1.  
SET MLG WHEEL SENSOR TO LF.__

2.  
______ _____ __

APPLY +5V DC TO PIN 13 AND GND TO PIN 5 OF CONNECTOR J1.

3.  
ATTACH CURRENT METER BETWEEN TJ1 AND TJ2 OF OUTPUT ADJ. SIGNAL JACKS ON TEST BOX.

4.  
ADJUST ZERO ADJ. POTENTIOMETER UNTIL NO CURRENT FLOW BETWEEN OUTPUT ADJ. SIGNAL.__________________

5.  
TURN BRAKE RELEASE SWITCH TO ON. THERE SHOULD BE 0.030 |0.004 MA CURRENT FLOW BETWEEN OUTPUT ADJ. SIGNAL JACKS.

 CAUTION: BE CAREFUL DURING INSTALLATION OF THE PRESSURE GAGE
_______ IN THE PORT ON THE BRAKE UNIT HOUSING. DO NOT INSTALL THE PRESSURE GAGE WITH MORE THAN 110 POUND-INCHES OF TORQUE. IF YOU USE TOO MUCH TORQUE DURING INSTALLATION OF A PRESSURE GAGE, YOU CAN DAMAGE THE BRAKE UNIT HOUSING.
 5)  Install a pressure gage in the port on the brake unit housing.
 6)  Connect the hose half of the hydraulic brake disconnect to the brake half.
 (b) Do the steps that follow to supply pressure to the brakes:
 NOTE: Completion of these steps permits pressurization of the
____ brakes without the shutoff valve of the parking brake module closed. This will let hydraulic fluid move freely through the brake return lines when the brakes are released during the test.
 You can also supply pressure to the brakes manually. To do this, the parking brake must be released and one set of brake pedals must be pressed fully down and held in this position all throughout the test. This will supply pressure to the brakes. If the brakes are not held down during the test, there will not be any pressure applied to the brakes.
 1) Make sure this circuit breaker on the P6 panel is closed:
 a)  6L18 PARK BRAKE
 2)  If necessary, release the parking brake.
