(1)
Do the steps to assemble the yoke connection bolt lubrication insert (3) for installation:
(a)
Examine the O-rings (4, 7) on the lubrication insert (3) for worn areas or damage and replace them if it is necessary.
(b)
Apply a large quantity of grease on the O-rings (4, 7), the lubrication insert (3), and the innner surface of the center brake rod bolt (6).
(c)
Put the O-rings (4, 7) on the lubrication insert (3) and lubricate them again if it is necessary.

(d) Put the lubrication insert (3) into the bolt (6) to form the yoke connection bolt assembly.

Do the steps that follow to install the brake rod:
(a)
Butter lubricate the bolt (6), the nut (2) and the washer (1) with grease.
CAUTION: INSTALL THE BRAKE RODS WITH THE LARGER CLEVIS CUTOUT
_______ POINTED UP. IF THE LARGER CUTOUT POINTS DOWN, THE BRAKE ROD AND YOKE CAN HIT AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO PARTS.
(b)
Align the brake rod (9) with the inner cylinder yoke.
(c)
Install the yoke connection bolt assembly in the brake rod and innner cylinder yoke. 1) Install the bolt with the bolt head on the side of the
brake rods that is farthest from the truck beam.
NOTE: The bolt head and the grease fitting must point out,
____ with relation to the truck beam.
2) Tighten the nut (2) to 144 - 720 pound-inches.
3) Loosen the nut, if it is necessary, to the nearest castellation and install a lockbolt (5), washer, and a self locking nut.
(d) Apply a layer of grease to the brake rod bolt (8), nut, and washer.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE SERVICING STEPS TO THE SHOCK STRUT WERE DONE
_______ BEFORE YOU LIFT THE AIRPLANE ON JACKS. IF IT IS NOT, AN OVERLOAD CAN OCCUR AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE JACKS OR LANDING GEAR.
(e)
Align the brake rod (9) with the brake torque arm.
(f)
Install the brake rod bolt (8) in the rod and brake housing.
1) Install the bolt (8) with the bolt head on the side of the torque arm that is nearest to the truck beam.
NOTE: The bolt head must point in, with relation to the
____
truck beam.
2) Install the washer (12) on the bolt (8) with the tang of
the washer in the slot of the bolt. 3) Tighten the nut (11) to 120 - 600 pound-inches. 4) Loosen the nut (11), if it is necessary, to align the
nearest castellation and install a cotter pin (10).
(g) Connect the applicable electrical connector at the panel below the landing gear truck beam.
