Set the L, C, and R IRS mode selector switches on the Pilot's Overhead Panel, P5, to the NAV position to align the inertial reference systems (AMM 34-21-00/201).

Set the GND TESTS switch on the Overhead Maintenance Panel, P461, or in the main equipment center to the ENABLE position.

Prepare the Control Display Unit (CDU) for the system test as follows (AMM 45-10-00/201):
(a)
Push the MENU key on the CDU to show the MENU.
(b)
Push the <CMC Line Select Key (LSK) to show the CMC MENU.
1) If the CMC MENU is not shown, push the <RETURN LSK until you see the CMC MENU.
(c)
Push the <GROUND TESTS LSK to show the GROUND TESTS menu.
(d)
Push the NEXT PAGE key until you find <32 BRAKE CONTROLS.
(e)
Push the <32 BRAKE CONTROLS LSK to show the GROUND TESTS menu for the brake control system.

Do these steps to do a test of the left autobrake shuttle valve:
(a)
Do these steps to install a pressure gage at a brake unit on the left side of the airplane: 1) Make sure that the parking brake is released. 2) Make sure that the brakes are not operated manually.

WARNING:_______ DO NOT OPERATE THE BRAKES WHEN YOU CONNECT OR
DISCONNECT THE TWO PARTS OF A HYDRAULIC BRAKE
DISCONNECT. IF YOU TRY TO CONNECT OR DISCONNECT A
HYDRAULIC BRAKE DISCONNECT WITH THE BRAKE IN
OPERATION, A HIGH PRESSURE RELEASE OF HYDRAULIC FLUID
CAN OCCUR. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND
DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
3) To remove all pressure from the brake unit, disconnect the hose half of the hydraulic brake disconnect from the brake half.
4) Remove the lockwire that safeties the adapter of the brake bleeder assembly to the brake unit housing.
NOTE: Each brake bleeder assembly has a bleeder valve
____ installed in an adapter. The adapter is installed in the brake unit housing.
5) Remove the bleeder assembly from the brake unit housing.
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL DURING THE INSTALLATION OF THE PRESSURE
_______ GAGE IN THE PORT ON THE BRAKE UNIT HOUSING. DO NOT INSTALL THE PRESSURE GAGE WITH MORE THAN 110 POUND-INCHES OF TORQUE. IF YOU USE TOO MUCH TORQUE DURING THE INSTALLATION OF A PRESSURE GAGE, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE BRAKE UNIT HOUSING.
6) Install a pressure gage in the bleeder assembly port of the brake unit housing. 7) Connect the hose half of the hydraulic brake disconnect to the brake half.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF ALL
_______ CONTROL SURFACES BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. AILERONS, RUDDERS, ELEVATORS, FLAPS, SPOILERS, LANDING GEAR, AND THRUST REVERSERS CAN MOVE QUICKLY WHEN YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(b)
Pressurize hydraulic system No. 4 (AMM 29-11-00/201).
(c)
Set the AUTOBRAKES selector switch to one of the five possible positions that arm the system to make a landing (1, 2, 3, 4, or MAX AUTO).
