Examine the wheels for melted, pushed out or leaking thermal fuses (AMM 32-45-03/601).
(a)
The tire is not serviceable if it was deflated by a thermal fuse that is melted or pushed out.
(b)
When you remove the tire/wheel, attach a tag with the cause of removal on the wheel.
(c)
Examine the wheel for heat damage. Refer to the applicable vendor maintenance manual.

NOSE GEAR WHEEL SNUBBER - MAINTENANCE PRACTICES

1. General
_______
A. This procedure contains the instructions to remove and install the wheel snubber assemblies, and to examine them for wear. A snubber assembly contains a spring and a brake shoe.
B. Two wheel snubbers are installed on the top panel assembly of the nose gear wheel well. One snubber is used for each wheel.

(1) Make sure the ground locks are installed in all landing gear (AMM 09-11-00/201).

WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY DO THE STEPS IN THE TASK BELOW TO INSTALL
_______ THE DOOR LOCKS ON THE LANDING GEAR DOORS. THE DOORS CAN CLOSE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE DOOR LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2) Do this task: "Installation of the Door Locks on the Nose Landing Gear" (AMM 32-00-30/201).

WARNING: THE NOSE WHEEL SNUBBER BLOCKS CONTAIN FIBERS OR DUST WHICH CAN
_______ BE HARMFUL IF INHALED. MAKE SURE YOU PUT ON A PROTECTIVE TYPE RESPIRATOR WHEN YOU DO WORK NEAR THE SNUBBER BLOCKS THAT CAN CAUSE AIRBORNE FIBERS OR DUST.

Hold the snubber assembly and remove the bolts that attach the assembly to the top of the wheel well.
(4)
Remove the snubber assembly.

If it is necessary, disconnect the nuts and bolts (12 locations) to remove the snubber blocks from the spring.
