Remove the two bolts and washers.
(c)
Remove the adapter fittings from the relief valve.
(d)
Discard the O-rings.

Do the steps that follow to remove the internal relief valve, or the thermal relief valve cartridge:
(a)
Remove the lockwire.
(b)
Turn the cartridge counterclockwise to remove it from the valve assembly.
(c)
Discard the O-rings.

Procedure

(1)
For external thermal relief valves, do the steps that follow to install the relief valve:
(a)
Lubricate new O-rings and backup rings.
(b)
Install the adapters (2 locations) with the O-rings (2 on each adapter) and the backup ring (1 on each adapter) in the relief valve.
(c)
Hold the relief valve in its position on the mounting bracket.
(d)
Install 2 bolts and washers through the relief valve.
(e)
Connect the hydraulic lines to the relief valve assembly (2 locations).

Do the steps that follow to install the internal relief valve, or the thermal relief valve cartridge:
(a)
Install O-rings (2 locations) and backup rings (4 locations) on the cartridge.
(b)
Install the cartridge in the relief valve.
(c)
Install a lockwire to the cartridge and the housing of the valve.
