Repair Axle Sleeve Cracks
NOTE: One crack for each journal area, that starts in the area between
____ the bearing journals, is permitted if the condition that follows is obeyed:
-The crack does not extend more than 1/4 inch into the journal area.

CAUTION:_______REMOVE THE AXLE SLEEVE BEFORE YOU DRILL IT. IF YOU DO NOT REMOVE THE AXLE SLEEVE, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AXLE.
(1)
Remove the axle sleeve from the landing gear axle
(AMM 32-11-32/401 and AMM 32-13-26/401).

Do the steps that follow to repair the bearing journal areas:
(a)
Drill a 1/4 inch hole on each end of the crack.
NOTE: The center of the hole must be at the end of the crack.

(b)
Use a file to make the crack into a slot that is 1/32 inch minimum to 1/16 maximum in width.
(c)
Break the sharp edges to 0.030 inch radius.

TIRES - INSPECTION/CHECK

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains the task to do an inspection/check of the landing gear tires. The tires are examined to make sure if they are in good condition for safe operation and minimum airplane maintenance.
B. If the tires have flat spots or are blown because of a locked wheel slide (not a tire structural failure) refer to AMM 05-51-25/201 to find the cause.

Prepare to Examine the Tires

(1) Make sure that the landing gear ground locks are installed (AMM 09-11-00/201).

WARNING: REFER TO SPECIFIED PROCEDURE TO INSTALL THE DOOR LOCKS
_______ CORRECTLY. THE DOORS CAN CLOSE QUICKLY IF YOU INSTALL THE DOOR LOCKS INCORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.

Install the door locks for the main gear (AMM 32-00-30/201).

Make sure the tire is inflated to the correct pressure (AMM 12-15-06/301).
