If a tire is flat, or when a tire is turned at 30% or more below the specified pressure, remove all tires from that axle (AMM 32-45-01/401 and AMM 32-45-02/401).

If a leak occurred after the airplane was parked, remove only the tire with the low pressure (AMM 32-45-01/401 and AMM 32-45-02/401).

Examine the tires for air leaks, abrasions, unusual worn areas, cuts and flat spots.

Remove the tires that have the conditions that follow:
(a)
Cuts or weather cracks in the grooves, the tread, shoulders or sidewalls that exceed the limits shown in Figure 602.
(b)
Blisters, bulges, or other signs of ply separation in the tread, shoulder or sidewall area.
(c)
Tires with a flat spot which shows the tread reinforcement ply (bias) or cut protector (radial).
(d)
Other types of damage that can cause tire problems.

Examine the tires for worn areas.
(a)
Measure the depth of the tire tread groove at three points that are equally spaced apart.
(b)
If the average tread depth on any groove is 1/32 inch
(0.79 MM) or less, the tire must be replaced at the next convenient maintenance opportunity.
(c)
If the tread belt ply (radial) or carcass ply (bias) shows at any location, the tire is not servicable and must be replaced.
(d)
If the tread is worn so that the cut protector (radial) or tread reinforcement ply (bias) shows at any location, the tire must be replaced at the next convenient maintenance opportunity.
NOTE: If the cut protector (radial) or tread ply (bias)
____ shows, the tire may be used without safety concerns. However, you may not be able to re-tread the tire if you leave the tire in service too long with this condition.
