(4) S 494-024Use a container to catch hydraulic fluid from the disconnect lines.
(5) S 164-025Clean the fluid from the airplane if it is necessary (AMM 12-40-00/201).
(6) S 034-004Remove the mounting clamp.
(7) S 034-005Disconnect the line from the filter.
(8) S 024-006Remove the filter from the pump.
(9) S 214-007Do a check of the filter for metal particle contamination as follows: (a) Use the wrenching flats on the barrel and head then disassemble the filter. (b) Remove and discard o-ring packings and teflon backing rings. (c) Flush all surfaces using degreaser BMS 11-7, or equivalent. (d) Examine all surfaces, the o-ring grooves and threads for defects or contamination. (e) Install new o-ring packings and backing rings. (f) Apply lubricant to the threads on head then assemble the unit. (g) Tighten the head to 40 pound-feet. (h) Apply sealant, Dow Corning 30-121, or equivalent to the barrel and head joint. (i) Install lockwire to secure the head to the barrel.

(10) Do these steps if the filter contains metal particles:
(a) Replace the EMDP (AMM 29-15-22/401).

(b) Flush the hydraulic lines between the filter and the pump.

C. Install the Acoustic Filter

Install the acoustic filter on the hydraulic pump.

Install the mounting clamp.

Connect the hydraulic line to the filter.
(a) Make sure the hydraulic line is in the position shown in Figure 401.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE DISCONNECT POPPET IS STRAIGHT BEFORE YOU INSTALL
_______ THE HOSE HALF OF THE SELF-SEAL DISCONNECT. IF TOO MUCH TORQUE IS NECESSARY TO DO THE INSTALLATION, DISCONNECT THE SELF-SEAL DISCONNECT AND AGAIN MAKE SURE THE POPPET IS STRAIGHT. AFTER THE INSTALLATION, MAKE SURE THE INDICATOR PINS EXTEND A MINIMUM OF 0.06 INCH. IF THE INDICATOR PINS ARE NOT CORRECTLY EXTENDED, FLUID FLOW WILL BE DECREASED OR STOPPED. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE RESERVOIR OR THE PUMP.

Connect the pump supply line at the quick-disconnect.

Pressurize the applicable hydraulic system reservoir (AMM 29-09-00/201).

(6) S 864-017Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close the applicable circuit breakers: (a) P6-11 Circuit Breaker Panel 1) STBY HYD PUMP NORMAL 2) ELEC HYD PUMP SYS B (b) P6-12 Circuit Breaker Panel 1) STBY HYD PUMP (ALT) 2) ELEC HYD PUMP SYS A
(7) S 864-020Use the applicable hydraulic pump to pressurize the applicable hydraulic system (AMM 29-15-00/201).
