CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT YOU PULL DOWN ON THE KNURLED RING OF THE
_______ SELF-SEAL DISCONNECT BEFORE YOU TURN IT FOR REMOVAL. IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS, TOO MUCH TORQUE WILL BE NECESSARY TO TURN THE RING WHICH WILL DAMAGE THE SELF-SEAL DISCONNECT.
(3) Disconnect the pump supply line at the quick-disconnect.
NOTE: The quick-disconnect for system A is on the bottom of the system A reservoir. The quick-disconnect for system B is outboard of the EMDP.
F. Remove the Pump (Fig. 401)

Disconnect the electrical connector from the pump.

Disconnect the supply line from the pump and drain the fluid out of it.

Put a cap on the supply line to keep contamination out.

Disconnect the case drain line from the pump and drain the fluid out of it.

Put a cap on the case drain line to keep contamination out.

Disconnect the strap that holds the acoustic filter.
(7)
Disconnect the acoustic filter (the pressure line) from the pump.
(8)
Put a cap on the pressure line to keep contamination out.
(9)
Put caps on the supply, pressure, and case drain ports of the pump.
(10)
Remove the mounting bolts and disconnect the bonding jumper.
(11)
Remove the pump from the airplane.

(12) If the pump is being replaced because of a mechanical failure, do these steps:
(a)
Replace the filter element of the case drain filter.
(b)
Replace the acoustic filter (AMM 29-15-27/401) if it has contamination (metal particles) in it.
(c)
Replace the filter element for the pressure filter (AMM 29-15-71/201).
(d)
Flush the hydraulic system (AMM 29-15-00/201).

(1) Make sure the pump assembly has all of its parts. If the fittings and the O-rings are not installed, install them with assembly lube or hydraulic fluid. Put caps on all of the ports.
