 (6)  Supply pressure to hydraulic system "B" by connecting the ground service cart to the ground service disconnect (AMM 29-15-00/001) or with the EDP by dry motoring the engine (AMM 71-00-00/201) or with the EMDP (AMM 29-15-00/201).

 WARNING:_______MOVE ALL PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT AWAY FROM THE FLAPS. THE FLAPS WILL MOVE AND CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Move the flap control lever to the 5 unit position.

Remove the hydraulic power from system B (AMM 29-15-00/201).

 D. Do the Test of the PTU System

 (1)  Put the ALTERNATE FLAPS arm switch in the ARM position.
 (a)  Make sure the standby hydraulic pump operates.

 (2)  Momentarily move the ALTERNATE FLAPS control switch to the DOWN position.
 (a)  Make sure the leading edge slats move to the fully extended position.
 NOTE: The LE FLAPS TRANSIT light will stay on.

 NOTE: The LE devices can retract a small amount when you move
____ them to the fully extended position.

 (3)  Put the ALTERNATE FLAPS arm switch in the OFF position.
 (a)  Make sure the standby hydraulic pump stops.

 CAUTION:_______MAKE SURE THE SYSTEM B HYDRAULIC RESERVOIR IS PRESSURIZED. THE CHECK VALVE FOR THE PTU CAN BE DAMAGED IF YOU OPERATE THE PTU WITHOUT PRESSURE IN THE HYDRAULIC RESERVOIR.
 (4)  
Look at the pressure gages for the system B hydraulic reservoir (above the electric motor driven pump in the main wheel well). Make sure the system B reservoir has a pressure of 45-65 psi.

Open this circuit breaker and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag:

 (a)  
P6 Panel
 1) NOSE GEAR AIR/GND


 (b)  
Make sure the PTU starts.

 (c)  
Make sure the leading edge slats retract to the intermediate position.

 (6)  
Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag and close this circuit breaker:

 (a)  P6 Panel
 1) NOSE GEAR AIR/GND


 (7)  
Remove the hydraulic power from systems A and B (AMM 29-15-00/201).

 (8)  
Open the NOSE GEAR AIR/GND circuit breaker on the P6 panel.

 (9)  
Supply hydraulic power to system B with the EMDP (AMM 29-15-00/201).

 Feel and listen to the PTU to make sure it does not operate.

 (11) Make sure the hydraulic pressure in system A does not increase.
 NOTE: If the PTU operates or the pressure in system A increases
____ then the check valve in the system B pressure line of the PTU is broken. Replace the parts:

The PTU (AMM 29-22-11/401)

 -
The PTU check valve

 -
The PTU pressure filter element (AMM 29-22-21/201).


 E. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

 (1)
Move the flap control lever to the UP position.

Remove the hydraulic power from system B (AMM 29-15-00/201).

 (3)
Close the NOSE GEAR AIR/GND circuit breaker on the P6 panel.
