BUT PTU DOES NOT OPERATE - Close circuit breaker NOSE GEAR AIR/GND (P6 panel). Depressurize system A (AMM 29-15-00/201). Replace PTU.
NOT OK CONTROL VALVE OPENS, PTU OPERATES, BUT LANDING GEAR
BYPASS VALVE DOES NOT OPERATE -PROCEDURE 2
OK

Turn the left Stall Warning (AOA) Vane counterclockwise to its top stop and start a stopwatch. Make sure that the leading edge slats extend fully in 4 seconds. IF -
LEADING EDGE SLATS DO NOT EXTEND - Close circuit breaker
NOT OK
NOSE GEAR AIR/GND (P6 panel). Depressurize system A (AMM 29-15-00/201). Loosen in-flow B-nut on either hydraulic fuse located between PTU pressure filter and leading edge control valve. Allow all residual pressure to bleed off. Tighten B-nut.
LEADING EDGE SLATS EXTEND SLOWER THAN 4 SECONDS

Close circuit breaker NOSE GEAR AIR/GND (P6 panel). Depressurize system A (AMM 29-15-00/201). Service PTU filter (AMM 29-22-21/201).
Do this task: "Leading Edge Autoslat System -
NOT OK
Troubleshooting (AMM 27-83-00/101).
OK


PTU operation is sensitive to hydraulic pressure and may require hose lengths of less than 15 feet between airplane and test stand to minimize pressure drop.

 1.  General_______
 A.  There are two tasks in this procedure, there is an operational test and a system test of the hydraulic power transfer unit (PTU) system. You can use the operational test to find if the PTU is serviceable. You can use the system test to do a full test of the system.
