Make sure the ground locks are installed at the nose and main landing gear (AMM 32-00-01/201).

Make sure the main landing gear has blocks installed.

Remove the blocks and the tow bar from the nose landing gear.

Make sure the thrust reverser cowls are closed.

To use the ammeter procedure, do these steps:

 (a)  
Make sure the person in the flight compartment and the person on the ground can speak to each other (Interphone, radio).

 (b)  
Disconnect the electrical connector from the electric
 motor-driven pump (EMDP) for the B hydraulic system.


 (c)  
Connect one end of the cable assembly to the EMDP (Fig. 602).

 (d)  
Connect the other end of the cable assembly to the electrical connector (Fig. 602).

 CAUTION:_______PUT THE AMMETER IN THE SHORT CIRCUIT POSITION. THE CURRENT TO START THE EMDP IS APPROXIMATELY 180 AMPS. THIS WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AMMETER IF IT IS IN THE CIRCUIT.

 (e)  
Put the switch on the ammeter in the short-circuit position.

 (6)  To use the flowmeter procedure, do these steps:
 (a)  Connect the hydraulic service cart to the ground service module for hydraulic system B. 1) Put the remote readout for the flowmeter in the control
 cabin (if you have one).
 2) Start the hydraulic service cart.

 (7)  To use the amp-clamp and multimeter procedure, do these steps:
 (a) Get access to the relay for the system B EMDP in the P6 panel.
 NOTE: The R317 relay is for system A EMDP and the R318 relay

 is for the system B EMDP.

 (b)  
Put the amp-clamp adapter around one of the three wires that go forward from the relay.

 (c)  
Connect the multimeter to the amp-clamp adapter.

 NOTE: If you use a ground cart for electrical power, it must supply

 a voltage of 114 to 116 volts ac at 400 -5 Hz.

 Do not operate other electrical equipment during this test.

 (9)  Make sure the No. 1 fuel tank (for the system A heat exchanger) and the No. 2 fuel tank (for the system B heat exchanger) have a minimum of 250 gallons (1675 pounds/760 kilograms) of fuel in them.
