 A.  This procedure gives you the instructions to do a test of the OVERHEAT warning lights and the overheat switches (in the case drain lines) for the A an B electric motor-driven pumps (EMDPs).
 NOTE: The temperature switch (235- -8-F) connected to the motor housing
____ of the EMDP is not a line maintenance item. You must use the EMDP manufacturer's overhaul manual to do a test of it. This procedure does a test of the wires for the switch.

 2.  Overheat Warning System Test____________________________
 A.  General
 (1)  If hydraulic fluid gets on the airplane, clean it off (AMM 12-40-00/201).
 B.  Special Tools and Equipment
 (1)  H294 - Tempcal Multirange Thermocouple and Thermal Switch Tester -with BH 16440-40 probe (BH 16440-40 probe is a part of 65-91500-2 or -4 probe kit) (altenate).
 H394 - Temp-Cal Tester with adapter cable BH405 (alternate).
 BH24944 Heater Probe Kit (basic P/N)
 NOTE: This kit is necessary to use the H394 tester listed
____ above. There are different dash number kits for specific airplane model and tester combinations. Please consult with supplier.

 F. Prepare for the Test

Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Make sure these circuit breakers are closed:

 (a)  P6-3 Panel
 1) INDICATOR MASTER DIM BUS BAT
 2) INDICATOR MASTER DIM BUS NO. 1 DC
 3) INDICATOR MASTER DIM BUS NO. 2 DC
 4) INDICATOR MASTER DIM BUS SECT 1
 5) INDICATOR MASTER DIM BUS SECT 2
 6) INDICATOR MASTER DIM BUS SECT 3
 7) INDICATOR MASTER DIM BUS SECT 4

 (3)  Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
 (a)  
P6-3 Panel 1) INDICATOR MASTER DIM BUS SECT 5 (for system B) 2) INDICATOR MASTER DIM BUS SECT 6 (for system A)

 (b)  
P6-2 Panel
 1) ELEC HYD PUMP CONTROL (for system B)
 2) ELEC HYD PUMP CONTROL (for system A)

 (4)  Release the pressure from the hydraulic reservoirs
 (AMM 29-09-00/201).

 G. Wire Test for the EMDP Temperature Switch
 S 035-006
 (1) Remove the electrical connectors of the EMDPs (system A and B).
 (a)  
Connector D2666 (for system B)

 (b)  
Connector D2664 (for system A)

 S 485-007
 (2)  
Connect pin 7 of connectors D2666 and D2664 to ground.

 (3)
Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:

 (a)  P6-3 Panel
 1) INDICATOR MASTER DIM BUS SECT 5 2) INDICATOR MASTER DIM BUS SECT 6

 (4)  Make sure the OVERHEAT lights (ELEC 1 and ELEC 2) on the P5 panel come on.
