(2) Keep the switch for the EDP in the ON position.
NOTE:____The engine-driven pumps should be left on. This will increase the life of the depressurization solenoid which becomes energized when the pump switch is put in the OFF position.

G. Remove Power from the Standby Hydraulic System

(1) Put these switches in these positions:
(a)
FLIGHT CONTROL A to the A ON position
(b)
FLIGHT CONTROL B to the B ON position
(c)
ALTERNATE FLAPS to the OFF position.

4. Flush the A or B Hydraulic System_________________________________
A. General
WARNING:_______HYDRAULIC FLUID, BMS 3-11, CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS. IF YOU GET THE HYDRAULIC FLUID ON YOUR SKIN, FLUSH YOUR SKIN WITH WATER. IF YOU GET THE HYDRAULIC FLUID IN YOUR EYES, FLUSH YOUR EYES WITH WATER AND GET MEDICAL AID. IF YOU EAT OR DRINK THE HYDRAULIC FLUID, GET MEDICAL AID.
(1)
Obey this warning during all of this task.
(2)
Use this procedure to flush the hydraulic system after you have replaced a broken engine-driven pump or electric motor driven pump.
(3)
If there is chemical contamination in the hydraulic fluid, the hydraulic fluid and the filter elements must be replaced (AMM 29-00-00/201).
(4)
When you work on parts from the hydraulic system, flush them only with BMS 3-11 hydraulic fluid. This keeps contamination out of the hydraulic system.
