 (3)  To use the ammeter procedure, do these steps:
 (a)  
Disconnect the electrical connector from the electric motor-driven pump (EMDP) for the standby hydraulic system.

 (b)  
Connect one end of the cable assembly to the standby EMDP (Fig. 606).

 (c)  
Connect the other end of the cable assembly to the electrical connector (Fig. 606).

 CAUTION:_______PUT THE AMMETER IN THE SHORT CIRCUIT POSITION. THE CURRENT TO START THE EMDP IS APPROXIMATELY 180 AMPS. THIS WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AMMETER IF IT IS IN THE CIRCUIT.

 (d)  
Put the switch on the ammeter in the short circuit position.

 (4)  To use the flowmeter procedure, do these steps:
 (a)  
Open these circuit breakers:
 1) P6-11 panel
 a) STBY HYD PUMP NORMAL


 2)  P6-12 panel
 a) STBY HYD PUMP ALTERNATE


 (b)  
Install the flow meter at the outlet of the standby EMDP.

 (5)  To use the amp-clamp and multimeter procedure, do these steps:
 (a)  Get access to the applicable circuit breaker:
 NOTE: You can also use one of the three load wires connected
____ to standby hydraulic pump relay, R68, to put the amp-clamp adapter around.
 1)  P6-11 panel
 a)  C847 STBY HYD PUMP NORMAL (use this circuit breaker if the No. 1 GEN BUS has power, or if the No. 1 and the No. 2 GEN BUS have power)

 2)  P6-12 panel a) C848 STBY HYD PUMP ALTERNATE (use this circuit breaker
 if only the No. 2 GEN BUS has power)
 CAUTION:_______ MAKE SURE THE AMP-CLAMP DOES NOT TOUCH THE CIRCUIT BREAKER
 TERMINALS.  IT CAN CAUSE A SHORT CIRCUIT.

 (b)  
Put the amp-clamp adapter around one of the three wires connected to the load side of the circuit breaker.

 (c)  
Connect the multimeter to the amp-clamp adapter.

 (a)  
P6-11 panel 1) STBY HYD PUMP NORMAL

 (b)  
P6-12 panel 1) STBY HYD PUMP ALTERNATE

Put the arm switch for the ALTERNATE FLAPS in the ARM position (on the P5 panel).

 (11) Do these steps to make sure the pressure relief valve in the standby pressure module is serviceable:
 (a)  
Make sure the standby pressure module does not make a hissing noise.

 (b)  
Make sure the return line from the standby pressure module is not hot.

 (c)  
If you hear a hissing noise or the return line is hot, replace the pressure relief valve (AMM 29-15-81/201).

Put the FLT CONTROL A switch in the A ON position.
