WARNING:_______ KEEP PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT AWAY FROM ALL CONTROL SURFACES AND
THE NOSE GEAR WHEN HYDRAULIC POWER IS SUPPLIED.  THE AILERONS,
ELEVATORS, RUDDER, FLAPS, SLATS, SPOILERS, STABILIZER , AND THE
NOSE GEAR ARE SUPPLIED WITH POWER BY THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS.
INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR WHEN
 HYDRAULIC POWER IS SUPPLIED.

CAUTION: DO NOT OPERATE THE EMDP FOR MORE THAN TWO MINUTES IF THE NO. 2
_______ FUEL TANK CONTAINS LESS THAN 250 GALLONS (1675 POUNDS/760 KILOGRAMS) OF FUEL. YOU MUST LET THE RESERVOIR TEMPERATURE DECREASE TO AMBIENT TEMPERATURE BEFORE YOU OPERATE THE PUMP AGAIN. DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS.
 (a)  With the EDP or EMDP and the respective hydraulic system, operate the following controls in the sequence shown below: 1) Flight control surfaces, three full cycles. 2) Thrust reverser, three full cycles. 3) Flaps, one full cycle. 4) Landing Gear Control Lever, one full cycle.
 S 782-192
 (5)
Remove the power from the hydraulic system (AMM 29-15-00/201).

 S 212-190

 (6)
Inspect the airplane for any external hydraulic leaks, if any are found, refer to the Hydraulic System External Leak Check (AMM 29-00-00/601).

 S 862-191

 (7)
Put the airplane back to its usual condition.

 S 212-187

 (8)
Check the hydraulic fluid level and service if necessary (AMM 12-12-00/301).

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure gives you the instructions to find if the hydraulic system is in good condition. It will help you to find which parts are worn.
 (1)
The first task gives you the data to find if parts of the hydraulic system have too much external leakage. The remaining 8 tasks give you the instructions to find if parts of the hydraulic system have too much internal leakage.

 (2)
These are the tasks in this procedure:

 (a)
Hydraulic System External Leak Check: You use this procedure to find if parts have too much external leakage.

 (b)
Prepare for an Internal Leak Check: You use this procedure before you do one of the internal leak check procedures (Procedures 1, 2, 3, 4A, 4B, and 5) for the A and B hydraulic systems.

 (c)
Gross Internal Leak Check (Procedure 1): You use this procedure to find if the total system A or B hydraulic leakage is too much.

 (d)
System Internal Leak Check (Procedure 2): You use this procedure to find if one or more of the systems that use hydraulic power has too much internal leakage.

 (e)
Part Internal Leak Check (Procedure 3): You use this procedure to find if one part or a small group of parts has too much internal leakage.

 (f)
Internal Leak Check for the Autopilot Actuators (Procedure 4A): You use this task to find the internal leakage of the autopilot actuators. This procedure does a test of the same parts as procedure 4B.

 (g)
Internal Leak Check for the Autopilot Actuators (Procedure 4B): You use this task to find the internal leakage of the autopilot actuators. This procedure does a test of the same parts as procedure 4A.

 (h)
Internal Leak Check for the Rudder Power Control Unit (PCU) (procedure 5): You use this task to find the internal leakage of the rudder PCU.

 (i)
Put the airplane back to its usual condition: You use this procedure after you finish Procedures 1, 2, 3, 4A, or 4B, 5.
