Make sure the ENG 1, ENG 2, ELEC 1, and ELEC 2 switches for the HYD PUMPS (on the P5 panel) are in the OFF position.

Open the fan cowl panels for the applicable engine (Ref 71-11-02/201) (the left engine for system A, the right engine for system B).

Disconnect the pressure and the supply lines from the engine-driven pump (EDP).

Connect the pressure line of the hydraulic service cart to the pressure line you disconnected from the EDP.

 (b)  
Connect the return line of the hydraulic service cart to the supply line you disconnected from the EDP.

 (1)  Make sure the two LOW PRESSURE lights for the applicable HYD PUMPS are on.

 (2)  S 735-083Use the hydraulic service cart to slowly pressurize the hydraulic system to 3000 psi. (a) Make sure the applicable LOW PRESSURE light (ENG 1 or ENG 2) goes out when the pressure is between 1200 and 1600 psig. (b) Make sure the applicable HYD SYS PRESS indicator shows between 2900-3200 psig.
 (3)  S 735-084Slowly decrease the hydraulic pressure. (a) Make sure the applicable LOW PRESSURE light (ENG 1 or ENG 2) comes on when the pressure is between 1500 and 1100 psig.
 (4)  S 865-085Release all the pressure from the hydraulic system.
 (5)  S 085-086Disconnect the hydraulic service cart from the airplane.
 (6)  S 435-087Connect the pressure line and the supply line to the EDP.
 (7)  S 735-088Put the applicable HYD PUMPS ELEC 2 (for the A hydraulic system) or HYD PUMPS ELEC 1 (for the B hydraulic system) switch in the ON position. (a) Make sure the applicable LOW PRESSURE light (ELEC 1 or ELEC 2) goes out when the pressure is between 1100 and 1600 psig (use the HYD SYS PRESS indicator). (b) Make sure the pressure becomes stable between 2800-3200 psig.
