WARNING:_______ MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF ALL CONTROL
SURFACES BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. AILERONS, RUDDERS,
ELEVATORS, TRAILING EDGE FLAPS, LEADING EDGE FLAPS AND SLATS,
SPOILERS, LANDING GEAR, AND THRUST REVERVERS CAN MOVE QUICKLY
WHEN YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO
PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1)
Pressurize the hydraulic systems A and B (AMM 27-11-00/201).

Make sure that the FLT CONTROL A and B switches are ON.

Install the control wheel torque and force test adapter on the captain's control wheel (Fig. 508).
NOTE: If the adapter is not available, put a force on the control
____ wheel at a 6.5 inch radius. The torque is equal to the force multiplied by 6.5 inches.

Make sure that the aileron trim system is at the center.

Measure the transfer mechanism torque (or force):
(a)
Hold the first officer's control wheel rigid in the neutral position.
(b)
Turn the captain's control wheel clockwise from the neutral position. 1) Make sure the torque necessary to initially turn the
control wheel is not more than 436 pound-inches or 67 pounds force at 6.5 inches radius.
(c)
Continue to turn the captain's control wheel clockwise through 75 degrees of travel. 1) Make sure the torque is not more than 676 pound-inches or
104 pounds force at 6.5 inches radius.
(d)
While you turn the control wheel, make sure that the spring cartridge compresses and can move freely.
(e)
Release the captain's control wheel.
NOTE: The captain's control wheel will go back to the neutral
____ position in a limit of |1 degree when you release the control wheel.

Turn the first officer's control wheel clockwise 80 degrees and hold.
(b)
Turn the captain's control wheel counterclockwise until you get the transfer mechanism stops to touch. 1) Make sure the control wheel turns more than 138 degrees. 2) Make sure the transfer mechanism can move freely when you
