 Turn the control wheel through a minimum of two cycles.

 Do a check of the rigging:

 (a)  
Hold the straightedge across the top of the two aileron control wheels.

 (b)  
Make sure that one end of the first officer's control wheel is not more than 0.20 inch from the straightedge.

 (c)  
Make sure the cable tension is not out of tolerance (Fig. 402).

 (d)  
Remove the straightedge.

 Adjust the right cables AA and AB:


 NOTE: You must adjust the aileron trim system before you can adjust

 the cables.

 (a)  
Attach the straightedge on the top of the control wheels to keep the wheels in the neutral position.

 (b)  
Make sure the aileron trim system is at the center.

 (c)  
Make sure the trim roller touches the two sides of the cam detent.

 (d)  
Adjust the cable tension to get the specified value (Fig. 402).

 (e)  
Remove the straightedge from the control wheels.

 (f)  
Turn the aileron control wheel through a minimum of two full cycles.

 (g)  
Install the rig pins A/S-1, A/S-1A and A/S-3.

 (h)  
Make sure the cable tension is in the specified range
 (Fig. 402).


 (i)  
Install the turnbuckle clip locks.

 (j)  
Remove all the rig pins.

 Install the protractor and the protractor mount on the first officer's aileron control wheel.

 Install the adapter on the captain's control wheel (Fig. 404).

 (18) Use a torque wrench on the adapter to measure the force necessary to turn the captain's aileron control wheel.
 NOTE: If the adapter is not available, put a tangent force to the

 captain's control wheel at a 6.5-inch radius.

 (a)  
Turn the control wheel clockwise until the aileron starts to move. 1) Make sure the necessary force is not more than 192

 pound-inches torque or 29.5 pounds.

 (b)  
Continue to turn the control wheel to 20 degrees.

 1)  Make sure the necessary force is not more than 220 pound-inches torque or 33.8 pounds.

 (c)  
Continue to turn the control wheel to 40 degrees.

 1)  Make sure the necessary force is not more than 256 pound-inches torque or 39.4 pounds.

 (d)  
Continue to turn the control wheel to 75 degrees.
