Install dial indicators on mounting devices on each aftflap trailing edge aft of each flap track.
NOTE: You can use a fixed point on the ground as a reference for the measurements.

Measure the play of the trailing edge of the aftflaps:
(a)
Push down with a force of 15-30 pounds on the trailing edge of each aftflap near the flap tracks.
(b)
Make a record of the travel shown on the dial indicator.
(c)
Push up with a force of 15-30 pounds on the trailing edge of each aftflap near the flap tracks.
(d)
Make a record of the travel shown on the dial indicator. 1) Make sure the play of the inboard aftflap is not more than
0.280 inch. 2) Make sure the play of the outboard aftflap inboard track is not more than 0.327 inch.
3) Make sure the play of the outboard aftflap outboard track is not more than 0.258 inch.
(e) If the movment is not in the tolerance, adjust the deadweight rollers (AMM 27-51-11/401 or AMM 27-51-39/401).
