Make sure the aileron control forces, with power off, are not more than the specified limits (AMM 27-11-00/501 "Use a torque range and control wheel torque and force test adapter to measure the torque necessary to turn the captain's control wheel").
S 865-010
(3)
Make sure the stop clearances at the quadrants of the power control unit are not out of tolerance (AMM 27-11-00/501).

(4)
If the flaps up lateral trim is more than 3/4 unit, make trim correction first, then correct the manual reversion discrepancy by next flight.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS "A" AND "B" ARE
_______ DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU CONTINUE TO THE NEXT TASK (AMM 27-11-00/201).
(5) Adjust the control rod(s) of the aileron balance tab(s), if it is necess with the steps that follow:
NOTE: The forces are measured and recorded in the "Flight Test
____ to Find and Correct Asymmetrical Flight Control Forces" (AMM 27-11-00/501).
(a)
Make a record of the force necessary to turn the control wheel approximately 30 degrees clockwise.
(b)
Make a record of the force necessary to turn the control wheel approximately 30 degrees counterclockwise.
(c)
Divide the counterclockwise force by the clockwise force to get the force ratio, or else divide clockwise force by counter-clockwise force to get a value greater than 1.0.
(d)
Use the force ratio to find the correct control rod change from Fig. 505.
NOTE: For the left and/or right aileron balance tab, you must
____ change the length of the control rods in sets.
(e) With aileron indexes aligned, measure the distance between the trailing edge of the aileron balance tab and the lower aileron surface.
NOTE: After the adjustment of the tab rod length, the tab
____ trailing edge must be +.05 to +.09 inch at the middle point along the aileron tab.
(f) Adjust the tab rod lengths of each set to get a clearance of
0.5 to 0.9 inch between the midpoint along the trailing of the tab and the aileron bottom surface with the steps that follow (AMM 27-11-00/501 "Adjust Aileron Balance Tab"):
NOTE: If changes are made to both rod sets (left and right
____ aileron tabs) the amount of rod barrel turns must be halved (Fig. 505).
1) Put a straightedge or the aileron tab alignment protractor
at the rod attach points.
2) Measure the distance.
3) Make a record of this dimension.
(g) To correct high left forces, do one of these steps to get the correct control rod change from Fig. 505: 1) Make the left control rod set shorter.
