Do a test on the power control units:
(a)
Turn the captain's control wheel clockwise from the neutral position to 6 units of trim.
(b)
Turn the captain's control wheel back to 2 units of trim.
(c)
Release the captain's control wheel.
1) Make sure that the control wheel goes back to the neutral position in |0.4 units of trim (|2.4 degrees).
(d)
Turn the captain's control wheel counterclockwise from the neutral position to 6 units of trim.
(e)
Turn the captain's control wheel back to 2 units of trim.
(f)
Release the captain's control wheel.
1) Make sure that the control wheel goes back to the neutral position in |0.4 units of trim (|2.4 degrees).
(g)
Set the FLT CONTROL A switch to OFF.
(h)
Set the FLT CONTROL B switch to ON. 1) Carefully move the elevators, ailerons, and rudder. 2) Make sure that the control forces and operation do not
change.
(i)
Set the FLT CONTROL B switch to OFF.
(j)
Set the FLT CONTROL A switch to ON. 1) Carefully move the elevators, ailerons, and rudder. 2) Make sure that the control forces and the operation do not
change.
(k)
Set the FLT CONTROL A switch to OFF.
(l)
Set the FLT CONTROL B switch to ON.
(m)
Measure the force necessary to turn the captain's or the first officer's control wheel clockwise until the ailerons start to move. 1) Make sure the force is not more than 29 pound-inches or 4.5
pounds at 6.5 inches radius.
(n)
Continue to turn the control wheel to 5 degrees from the neutral position. 1) Make sure the necessary force is not more than 35.5
pound-inches or 5.5 pounds at 6.5 inches radius.
(o)
Continue to turn the control wheel to 20 degrees from the neutral position. 1) Make sure the necessary force is not more than 56
pound-inches or 8.5 pounds at 6.5 inches radius.
(p)
Continue to turn the control wheel clockwise to 40 degrees from the neutral position. 1) Make sure the necessary force is not more than 89.5
pound-inches or 14 pounds at 6.5 inches radius.
(q)
Continue to turn the control wheel clockwise to 75 degrees from the neutral position. 1) Make sure the necessary force is not more than 123.5
pound-inches or 19 pounds at 6.5 inches radius.

Release the control wheel from the 75 degrees clockwise direction. 1) Make sure that the control wheel goes back to the neutral
position to |1 degree.
(s)
Do steps (m) thru (r) again in the counterclockwise direction.
(t)
Set the FLT CONTROL B switch to OFF.
(u)
Set the FLT CONTROL A switch to ON.
(v)
Do steps (m) thru (s) again.
(w)
Set the FLT CONTROL B switch to ON.
(x)
Operate the control wheel slowly through full range of the aileron travel.
(y)
Make sure the system operates smoothly.
(z)
Make sure that the balance tabs operate in the opposite direction of the aileron movement.

(10) Do a test on the operation of the aileron trim switches:
